Interests

Professional:

Trista truly enjoys caring for others and this is reflected by her ability to establish positive rapport quickly with her patients and to maintain a caring, compassionate and trusting relationship. She is able to get along with most everyone and one of the best rewards is getting a patient to smile. Patient care and developing trusting relationships with her patients is a top priority.

Trista enjoys learning and finding ways to improve her knowledge and the care she provides. Attending seminars, online learning and educational conversations with peers are some of the ways she enjoys keeping up with the latest information. She enjoys both intellectual and candid conversations with others.

Education is a key component to nursing. Outside of her own learning, Trista enjoys providing education to others. Spending time to help patients and their families to gain a better understanding of their condition and their medical needs is satisfying. Additionally, she loves to mentor others and share her expertise and understanding with those who are eager and willing to learn.

Personal:

Trista was born and raised in Rapid City, SD. She continues to reside here and is the loving mother to two wonderful boys and has a loyal and supportive spouse. Spending time with her family is one of her favorite things to do. Whether it is cooking together, fishing, traveling, hiking or just spending time together, it is always a good time. Her youngest son plays club soccer so you can often find her at the soccer field. She volunteers as the team manager for his soccer team and loves watching the kids play. With her son’s passion, Trista has discovered a newfound love of the sport.

She loves to read and has since she was a young girl. She will read almost any kind of fiction book she can get her hands on. She has a passion for writing and creating a world for others to enjoy. Mostly she enjoys writing fiction, particularly supernatural and horror stories.

With her nurturing and caring personality, Trista has a love of animals. She has rescued cats and dogs over the years. Two of her cats were bottle babies which she has raised since they were ten days old. Both of her dogs are rescues that were adopted into their lives at ten weeks of age and six weeks of age. They are all now part of her family and she continues to find ways to help other animals in need.
